Just ain’t cuttin’ it for me anymore.
Okay, internet, friends and family, I am tired of my current music selection. My cd stacks on the shelf consist of a variety of different groups, solo acts and styles. I have waterdeep, Over the Rhine, Coldplay, Prince, Train, and yes, Jessica Simpson. (Get over it, brother.) There are many many others, but these give you a good idea of what I have been filling my ears with over the years.
Basically, I have found myself longing for more. Something new. Someone new. Maybe I’m just tired of these stories or these sounds. I can’t remember the last time I bought a new cd. All I know is that I’m not feelin’ it anymore, if you know what I mean.
Of course, I will never stop listening to my brother’s songs. I’m counting on him to give his two cents worth. And, I know that Tony would like for me to add more guitar heavy tunes to my rotation. I’ll be surprised if his first recommendation isn’t Chevelle. A friend of ours made a mixed cd for our move to North Carolina. He cleverly named it “Norf Carolina Mixed CD”. However, I don’t know any of the musicians so even though I like some of them, I couldn’t find them again. Ugh.
Can you help a musically bored girl out? Who are you listening to now? Who are you really enjoying and feelin’?

Ok, first and foremost, I need to recant my comment about not posting… All statements made were, in fact, false and I apologize. I blame this on my observance deficieny.
Second, if you are interested in checking out some different genres, I recomend Allison Brown (very melodic bluegrass with jazzy interludes… it’s really quite soothing), Keller Williams (he’s really best to see live, but has some funky stuff), or Madison Greene (total tribal funk). Those are my three cents. I have to put a disclaimer that I only listen to the last two when I am in just the right mood, which isn’t necessarialy often. But, it’s variety for you!

I don’t listen to music very often. It just doesn’t do for me what it used to. I don’t know. Maybe I’m listening to the wrong stuff, but everything sounds the same to me anymore. I go back and listen to old stuff occasionally. Bon Jovi, Van Halen cheesy stuff like that. Bad medicine was on the radio the other day. It reminded me of junior high and I had to laugh. I listened to the Beetles for awhile a few months ago. Even Jake was sining “Baby you can drive my car”.

My current favorite CD’s are Kutless and Jeremy Camp. Christian rock is soooo much better now than when I was younger. I wonder what ever happened to that Stryper album grandma bought me? I listen to country when I need a change of pace.
