This beautiful exchange

I might start doing this every once in awhile, just to give a brief update as to what’s going on with the baby. If you don’t care to know, you can skip these posts.

Yesterday, we had our Week 24 doctor’s appointment. Everything seems to be growing along smoothly, including my backside. I gained nine pounds in the last five weeks. Nine. Our CNM said that she wasn’t too concerned about it, since before then, I had only gained two pounds during the first trimester. This puts me at a total of eleven pounds since our first visit. I knew that I had finally started putting on the weight when my only pair of maternity jeans started to feel different. I said something to Tony about it and he said that he’d noticed I was filling them out a little better. To which, I replied, “You mean, more.” He looked and the floor, turned and walked away. Smart man.

We heard the heart beat again and it is still at 150 beats per minute. She had a little trouble keeping the heart beat because the baby was moving around so much. Our neighbor across the street is convinced that we’re having a boy more and more after each appointment confirms the heart rate.

Speaking of, I have finally decided on a room theme if we do end up having a boy. Every moment I get, I’m thinking about it and putting it all together in my head. Today we went to Home Depot and I got more paint swatches to go with the 30 others that I’ve already collected. I could almost wallpaper an entire wall with all of the swatches I have. I’m still struggling to come up with something that I like if we have a girl. I’m getting close, though. I have a wall color picked out, but that’s about it.

Unfortunately, we have four more weeks until our next appointment, which will include the next ultrasound. Hopefully, then we’ll find out what we are having. I’m not sure my mom can wait that long.
