me: “And, you know what, maybe you’re there because it’s what you need right now.”
him: “You’re probably right.”
me: “It could be the best place for you to learn life lessons and such.”
him: “Wait…now why would I need to learn anything?”

THIS is what we wake up to each morning. No amount of coffee can get me going like her little gummy grins. It’s like she missed us through the night and then smiles to greet us in the morning as if to say, “Oh look! You’re still here!”

The other day we went to our favorite Chinese restaurant for lunch. As we sat down to our table, a lady at the table next to us looked at Lucy and then looked at me. She then says, “Wow, she has your ears.” I replied, “No, she has her father’s ears,” and pointed to Tony. [...]
