30 seconds before she exploded and blew a hole in the floor
For the most part, Lucy hates being on her stomach. Anytime she is placed on her stomach, she almost immediately begins to cry. I haven’t figured out what the problem is because I can’t quite decipher what her ear-piercing screams mean. All I know, is that it doesn’t seem to matter to her when I tell her that in order to learn to crawl, she needs to get comfortable on her tummy. Apparently, she plans on either walking immediately, or being carried everywhere she wants to go.
The other night, I woke up when I heard Lucy crying. It seemed odd to me, at first, that she was crying because lately she wakes up talking, instead. I went to her room to find her laying face down and sideways in her crib. She had rolled over on her stomach for the first time! Later in the day, during playtime on the floor, she started kicking her legs, trying to roll over again. I sat there and watched her rotate around on her back about 180 degrees before she finally got herself onto her tummy. And, then at that point, after all of that work, she began to cry, realizing that, “Dangit! I don’t like to be on my stomach!”
Here are a few pictures from playtime the other day. These were taken before she started rolling over, so I’ve actually placed her on her belly, hoping that one day, she’ll decide that it’s not so bad. She lays there for about a minute before crying, if we’re lucky.

I love the pictures where she is trying to shove Tony over! It’s so funny and amazing to see such little ones asserting themselves.
Sometimes when my Tony is reclining on the couch Katelyn will crawl up on top of Tony, wriggle down between him and the couch and then use her legs to push him off of the couch. She’s pretty darn strong too. If he won’t fall off she starts whining and gets mad.
