Daytime Insomniac
Lately, Lucy has been waking up several times during the night. She’s not hungry, she just seems to wake up and I have to go to her and give her back her pacifier or turn on Mommy Bear to help her go back to sleep. And, if she is hungry, after she eats, she wants to stay up for an hour and a half.
I have been told that the best thing to do is to take a nap when she does. However, I have a very hard time going to sleep during the day. If I do try to go to sleep, all I can do is lay there and think about such things as, “When is the house going to sell?”, “Maybe I should take a shower, I’d really like to wash my hair today,” “I really should get started on the laundry,” “Do the floors need mopped? No one wants to buy a house with dirty floors.” And, usually, if I haven’t yet gotten out of bed to do one of the many things I feel I need to get done, just when I’m about to drift off to sleep, she wakes up.
Today has been no different. I’ll get another chance at her mid-day nap. But, my dilemma is, do I just stay up and do the things that keep running through my mind, or do I lay down in hopes that maybe this time I’ll actually get some sleep?

You have learned so much in 4 months about the things books can’t teach you about being a Mom. You are a great Mom to Lucy. Don’t stress about not sleeping while Lucy does. Even if you can just rest and relax for awhile will help. Also, the floors and laundry can wait. ( I know that sounds strange coming from me) As far as Lucy not sleeping as much as she was at night, remember, this too shall pass. Talk to you later. XXOO

the floors don’t need to be mopped - if you really think they must then i would love to come over and do them for you. you should take a bath…so that way you can wash your hair and relax enough to be able to take a nap afterwards. what do you think??? i’ll do anything to help you get some rest. i would gladly come over a couple of times a week to clean, help with anything. you’re going to have to learn to take people up on their offers…b/c that’s what friends are for.
